What the Soul Needs to Know in the Fall
What a BEAUTIFUL season! We are now midpoint in autumn and have the opportunity to see the most magnificent displays of colors around us. So why do leaves change color? First, let's look at the science then connect it with our spirituality.
Deciduous trees loose all of their leaves as the weather starts to cool in autumn. This is Nature's strategy to survive the frigid weather upcoming. The only evergreen that sheds its needles every autumn are tamarack trees.
Shedding leaves helps the tree conserve water and energy in freezing temperatures. As it turns colder, hormones in the trees trigger the process of abscission whereby the leaves are actively cut-off of the tree by specialized cells. (abscission shares the same Latin root word as that in scissors which means to cut). This process involves the tree roots reabsorbing valuable nutrients from their leaves and store them for later use. Chlorophyll, the pigment that gives leaves their green color, is one of the first molecules to be broken down for its nutrients. Without the chlorophyll, the leaf turns red, orange, or gold. At the end of the abscission process, when the leaves have been shed, a protective layer of cells grows over the exposed area.

This is Mother Nature showing her all-knowing wisdom again. So, what is she trying to remind our Souls of as we see this process? We can learn from the trees. This is what our Soul's need to know.
If the trees are able to survive this way, and grow another year, then so too, shall the Soul evolve. The trees' energy shifts from the leaves, back down to the roots, breaking down all the nutrients along the way. This is a very symbolic process for our Soul. The leaves are what the tree puts out for the year: its full showing, like the flowers do in the summer. For the Soul, the summer is also the season of our full potential/showing for the year. Come fall, it is harvest time for the Soul. We have an opportunity to look at every aspect of ourselves, and shed what is not working, shed what is not for our highest good. The tree asks: what do I need to survive? I'll break down all my nutrients, and bring the energy into my root. This is an opportunity for us to bring our energy back down to our roots as well.
We can see ourselves through our relationships, like mirrors, so we know what to work on. Look around yourself at your closest 6 people. Do they inspire you, or hold you back? Do they disempower you, or cheer you on? If those closest relationships show jealousy, anger, revenge, sadness, or other negative character traits, they are the mirror for ourselves. The truth is, they are the blessing that has come along to show us parts of ourselves that need healing and development. Like attracts like in the spiritual world. So see the truth about yourself in an honest way. Disect every aspect of yourself as you are presented with character traits through your relationships, and shed this aspect of yourself, and that character trait will fall away, like the leaves. When you see it coming again in another relationship, ask yourself if this is what you want around you; do you want to spend time and energy with these qualities? When your Soul says NO, this is not what I want, then congratulations, you have just evolved. When you rid yourself of anything that isn't respectful, your relationships will show this. When you rid yourself of anything that isn't peaceful, your relationships will show this too. Ideally, we want to see peace, love, patience, joy, respect, honour, inspiration, and empowerment in our relationships. Then your Soul will be happiest. Fall is a time to let go of all that is not from love or peace. Harvest your business life, your social life, all your relationships to find your Soul's truth.
Just like Nature is always showing us how to survive and grow, so do the Stars. Their rotations and configurations are always trying to guide us towards our potential. We just completed a very powerful Liberating Trine of Uranus, together with every other aspect of our universal intelligence aligning in ways to help us LET GO or liberate from anything holding us back. Take inventory of what is being shown to you, and then look a little deeper. What is the universe showing me this fall? You don't want to miss it or dismiss it? Everything has importance and purpose, otherwise it would not be part of your day. It is best to work with Nature and the Universe, the all-knowing wisdom, as it guides us towards our potential.
